Summer ArcGIS Online Workshop

The Illinois Geographic Alliance invites middle and high school teachers of social studies or science to apply for the 2-day Introduction to ArcGIS Online and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Resources Workshop. This workshop will be held at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 17th and June 18th. Workshop participants will explore the full range of powerful geospatial tools and resources, now available to all K-12 teachers free-of-charge through the Esri ConnectEd Initiative and will also explore online lesson plans that will enhance their existing curriculum and empower their students with 21st Century mapping skills. For their participation in the 2-day June workshop, teachers will receive a stipend of $150 and 13 PD Clock Hours. After the June face-to-face workshops, participants will be asked to create a lesson plan using ArcGIS Online (August 12 submission deadline). Upon submission of the lesson plan teachers will receive an additional $50 stipend. Two follow-up webinars (1 PD Clock Hour each) will be available to support teachers during lesson plan development.
