Calling all GIS Professionals!

Be a Geo-Mentor or Trainer for GIS
By Judith Bock, Illinois Geography and Geospatial Initiative for Education (IGGIE)

With recent improvements to ArcGIS Online and the (free) K-12 license for basic and professional GIS software in IL, IGGIE needs help. The Illinois Geography and Geospatial Initiative for Education, working cooperatively with ILGISA and the Illinois State Board of Education/Illinois Virtual Schools, would like to provide training and mentoring opportunities for Illinois educators and students. The software is available and the technology integrates with curriculum, but teachers are not trained in the basics of GIS. No educational experience is needed – just your expertise as a GIS professional or practitioner. Even after basic training, educators will need further support for using the technology and be in need of a mentor. Find out how you can be part of the solution to this growing need.
